Programmes organized by Azad Foundation:

Street play ‘Dastak’ by Asmita Theatre Group, and Flash dance with the song ‘Jaago re Jaago’ as follows:

  1. 8th February: Sarita Vihar Community Center at 4 pm and at Sarita Vihar Senior Citizen’s Community hall at 6 pm
  2. 9th February: Gurgaon, Near Galleria, at 10 am

Programme details: Street play ‘Ajanmi Tanya’ at Ghalib Statue Park, Peace walk to FTK Auditorium, Musical group performances, movie screening, Panel discussion and Break the Chain against violence dance.

  1. 8th Feb-local awareness campaign, march, nukkad natak, flash dance,  and pledge.
  2. 11th Feb – SMS will join the peace march and perform in Jamia, in the capacity and as the NGO partner of SNCWS.

Programmes organized by Jagori:

Day 1: 12th February, 2014 (3 pm-6 pm)

Bawana, New Delhi: “Mamla Gambhir Hai”

A team of 20 youth leaders were trained on street theatre, body movement and confidence building through a series of workshops. They will perform a street play, “Mamla Gambhir Hai” spreading the message of how important it is to address the issue of violence against women as it is not solely a women’s issue but the onus lies on all the stakeholders. They will spread awareness amongst the community members on Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013. The play will be performed in 3 spaces – Jhanda Chowk, Jhalsa Chowk and Public park of J Block covering all 12 blocks. Dekhi Suni, Hum Sabla, Helpline booklets and OBR posters, ribbons and pledge cards will be disseminated.

 Ambedkar Park, Bilaspur Camp, Molarband, New Delhi:  “Humara Kaarwan: Mahila hinsa ke khilaaph”

Community women and youth leaders will organize a candle march spreading the message of every women’s right to a safe and violence free community and safe and violence free life.

Day 2 and Day 3: 13th and 14th February, 2014 (11 am-7 pm)

Film Festival in Bawana: A series of films focusing on justice will be screened in 7 new blocks, followed by discussions.

Film screening and Candle March at Madanpur Khadar: The community women and youth will engage in discussions around justice through a series of films. The film screening will be followed by a candle march in all 8 blocks. Dekhi Suni, Hum Sabla, Helpline booklets and OBR posters, ribbons and pledge cards will be disseminated.

Programme organized by Delhi Rising:

 9th RahiGiri Day- Gurgaon:

Students from DU and Care volunteers will join Azad Foundation in awareness Flashmob in Gurgaon between 8-12 pm. They will reclaim the streets and engage in meaningful dialogue with the inhabitants of Gurgaon.

12TH Hockey India League:  is supporting One Billion Rising and the cause of Gender Equality. Students from various colleges will be going to the Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, India Gate at 7 pm on 12th February. During Half Time of the match between Delhi Waveriders and Ranchi Rhino, the students will be singing Jaago Dilli Jaago, aiming to create awareness and visibility about this issue.

 Programme organized by Apne Aap Worldwide:

 Adolescent girls from the Self Empowerment Group in Delhi, within communities of de-notified tribes, will perform two street plays – on Child Marriage and Education on 14th February at Dharampura and Prem Nagar in Najafgarh (RZ-65, New Roshan Pura, Near Video office, Najafgarh

 11th February – Street Play – Delhi Zoo from 2 to 4 pm

12th February –  Street Play – Delhi Haat from 5 to 6 pm

13th February – Peace walk – Jaipur House to India Gate from 6 pm to 8 pm

 Programmes organized by DU:

Women’s Development Cell (WDC) Miranda House ,Delhi University and CFAR (Centre for Advocacy and Research)  join hands with the students from DU, Delhi  Police and Youth from the  community  as stakeholders in their commitment to gender justice under the OBR to  explore, understand and analyse the relationship between  laws and women’s rights in India. And to  engage and strive towards  a free, safe and equal world together.
