Azad Foundation in collaboration with CHSJ and Asmita Theatre together are organizing discussions, film screenings and a street play on masculinity in various locations such as Bhalaswa, Wazirpur, Vishwas Nagar, Anand Vihar JJ Colony, Kalyanpuri, Gautampuri amongst others. They also have a big event planned in Lakshmi Nagar for the14th of February!

Manas Foundation is distributing flex boards with the OBR Message to Auto Drivers!

The messages on the flex boards read:

(i) “ऑटो ड्राइवेरो का कहना, हिंसा को और नहीं सहना”

(ii) “मिलकर हिंसा मिटाएँगे, प्रेम सदभाव फेलाएँगे, अपनी दिल्ली को सुरक्षित बनाएँगे”

They will also give information about OBR in their gender sensitization trainings with auto drivers who are being mobilized to keep our streets safe.

‘Take Back The Night!” by RAHI Foundation on 9th January was a vibrant event with 100 youth campaigners taking part from several colleges around Delhi University.

Samarthyam organized a big event in Connaught Place for OBR on Raahigiri Day (1st February). The event was called  “Reclaiming our cities to make these safe and accessible for all :Promote Accessgiri and Stop Violencegiri” 

Srijanatmak Manushi Sanstha has planned a peace walk in their community areas. They plan to have street performances (short dance or theatrical pieces) at 3/4 places—starting at Majboor Nagar JJ Camp, to the corner of West Vinod Nagar to Prince Apartments, to Madhu Vihar Market to Balco Market and then to Majboor Nagar JJ camp Via Joshi colony (and some Patpargunj societies opposite to it)  and ending at Navniti apartments. This OBR peace walk will be in collaboration with local movers and shakers, Local RWAs and residents, NGOs, etc


Jagori’s has planned two interesting actions

  • Nukkad caravan: Jagori in partnership with Asmita theatre group will reach out to 5 different localities with a street theater performance on masculinity and changing role of men in response to violence against women.
  • Dekhi Suni: A model juke box will be created with the Jagori story panels on the main event on 14th February, 2015 to reach out to the mobile audience attending the OBR Campaign in Delhi. The juke box will be a space for the programmes made by the youth for community radio stations to be played along with feminist songs and audios of some of the stories of ending violence. In addition the Jagori youth group from Badarpur will perform ‘Break the Chains’, the OBR anthem dance.

Miranda House in collaboration with Centre for Advocacy and Research organized three weeks seminar course ‘Feminism and Indian Politics’ in January 2015. CFAR organized field visits for the participants during this three weeks course.

Miranda House and CFAR are planning to jointly organise an event on 9th February,2015, 80 student leaders from across the university will assemble at 11:30 as we will begin with our call for rise against violence against women and other forms gender oppression. Participants will set out for a march across the campus starting from metro station to Kirori mal college and will culminate at arts faculty. There will be small performances along with the flash mob across the campus.

Action Aid India and Action India, have organized a series of rallies y followed by candle light marches from the 11th to the 13th of February. It will including display of IEC Material and poster Promoting the importance of “Peace and justice”, this will involve Nigrani Samooh. Mothers Group, Mahila Panchayat Members and youth & Men. These will take place in Madangir, Seemapuri, Bhalaswa, Jahangirpuri, Dakshinpuri , Sanjay camp, Sunder Nagri, Welcome Colony, and Dwarka

Action Aid India – Haryana

4th Feb to 14th Feb. A team of 11 students of Darpan theatre (formed by Pardarshita organisation based in Seemapuri, Delhi) is moving from Delhi to perform street play in indicated 15 villages to aware and motivate Gramins to join OBR and raise their voice against violence on 14thFeb. YWCA Delhi – will take out a rally of over 300 women students on 14th February, from parliament Street to Central park to engage with the public on issues related to ending violence against women.
